One of the most effective strategies for enhancing school safety is implementing secure access points. Richland High School installed electronic gates which will improve secure access on the campus. Secure access points serve as the first line of defense in preventing unauthorized entry into the school building. By controlling and monitoring who enters and exits, the school can significantly reduce the risk of potential threats. Restricting access to only authorized individuals minimizes the chances of intruders gaining entry. Controlled entry points allow for better monitoring and identification of visitors, ensuring that any suspicious activity can be quickly addressed. The installation of the gates at the high school was made possible by the COPS grant.
