Richland R-IV School District

The Richland R-IV School District will begin holding informational meetings to discuss the upcoming tax levy proposal on the April 2nd ballot. On January 21, 2019 the Richland Board of Education voted to propose to the voters the opportunity to continue and maintain the $.30 cent temporary tax levy and permanently continue the tax rate of $3.05. This would not be a tax increase but rather a permanent continuation since the rate of $3.05 has been in effect since 2014. The continued financial support of the additional $.30 cents is needed to maintain and continue to improve our facilities, retain high quality staff and teachers, continue upgrading our technology, improve our transportation department and help finance other educational opportunities for the betterment of our students. The meetings will be held in the high school library on March 19, 2019 and March 22, 2019 beginning at 6:00 pm each evening.

Congratulations to the Bears on their win last night against Plato, 59-43. They will play in the championship game tomorrow, February 23rd, at 6:30. The Lady Bears play tonight at 7:30 against Plato in the semi-final round. Come out and support your Bears and Lady Bears!

Spring sports begin on Monday, February 25th. All athletes are required to have a physical on file before they can practice. Here are the following scheduled practice times for Monday: Track: 3:30-4:30 Tennis: 3:30-5:00 Baseball: 3:45-6:00

The Richland R-IV School District will not be in session today Wednesday, February 20, 2019 due to road conditions.

Boys Semi-Final round has been moved to Thursday, February 21st, and Girls Semi-Final round will now be played on Friday, February 22nd. Boys and Girls Finals will both be played on Saturday, February 23rd. Game times for Saturday will be girls at 5:00pm and boys at 6:30pm.

Class 2 District 8 Girls Basketball first round games at Laquey scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 have been cancelled and rescheduled for tomorrow night, Wednesday, February 20th, 2019. Game time will stay the same for tomorrow night.

As winter is hitting us hard, I think it is important to remind everyone of our ever changing school calendar and how make up days are scheduled. As of today, we have missed three whole days of school and one half day of school. We have made up two of those missed days but still have one and a half to make up. The two make up days are April 22, 2019 and then moving the last day of school to a half day on May 16, 2019. If we miss any more days due to weather the last day of school will be pushed back one day for each day missed. I hope this clarifies any questions you have, but please feel free to call either building if you have questions.

The boys game against Dixon has been cancelled for tonight. A makeup date will be released at a later time.

The district games for today have been cancelled. All first round girls games will be played on Tuesday, February 19th. The Lady Bears will play at 7:00.

Due to school being cancelled on Friday students will share their Valentine boxes and exchange cards Monday February 18th during snack time.

The academic contest for Saturday, February 16th, has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for a later date.

The boys game against Dixon is cancelled for tonight. It has been rescheduled for tomorrow, February 16th, at 6:00. The boys will play 2 quarters of JV followed by the varsity game.

The Richland R-IV School District will not be in session today Friday, February 15, 2019 due to incoming weather.

Please remember Friday, February 15th will be an early release day for professional development. The elementary will release at 12:20pm and the high school at 12:30pm. Please make any necessary arrangements.

RHS Band & Choir members performed with the Frisco League Honor Band & Choir over the weekend at Stoutland. They had a great time and put on an excellent show!
