School Violence Prevention Grant Awarded Students at Richland R-IV School District will soon notice some additional safety improvements. The Richland School District was recently awarded a grant through the "School Violence Prevention' program. The school is one of ten recipients in the State of Missouri to receive the grant. This is the second safety grant awarded to the school district. Dr. Turner, Superintendent of Schools, has written both grants on behalf of the district totaling $400,000 in safety improvements. The grant will allow the school to install new interior classroom doors throughout the district. New doors will be fire rated and will provide increased security. Dr. Turner stated she is excited to see the upgrades in the facility and district safety. The Richland Board of Education has made student safety a priority in the district's CSIP plan and the grant is helping achieve these goals.
