Summer school starts Tuesday May 21.

Bus routes will be different for summer school. Buses will not travel down gravel roads. We are working hard to ensure bus routes and times come home either today or tomorrow. Times will vary slightly the first few days as we work out the kinks of summer routes.

Teacher or staff member with a big impact on my high school career:
Susan Whittenburg, Susie was there for me no matter what. She pushed me to be a better person. I’ve never had a coach that I loved more. Anytime I needed to talk she was always there. This year hasn’t been the same without her.
Favorite memory of high school:
Community night of my sophomore year we did a dance during halftime and it turned out so good and our basket toss went so high.

Congratulations to Andelyn Wans for punching her ticket to state! She placed third today in sectionals in pole vault. The Class 1 State Tournament will be held on May 17 & 18.



Good luck to the baseball team in districts today! They play Tuscumbia at 6:30. at Halfway High School. Admission is $6.


Doug Smith, Richland High School Senior, was recognized tonight at the Community Salute to Service. Doug Smith has made a commitment to join the US Army following graduation. We are so proud of Doug and his decision to join the armed forces.

Teacher or staff member with a big impact your high school career: All of my teachers have made an impact on my high school career in many different ways, however the two teachers that have made a slightly larger impact on my career and me in general would have to be Mrs. Henson and Mrs. Douglas.

Earlier today on a morning bus route students witnessed a pedestrian carrying a firearm. The report states that the pedestrian brandish a weapon in protection of his animal from another animal. There was never any threat to our students, bus or school property. Law enforcement have been notified.

Track sectionals will be held at South Callaway High School on Saturday, May 11. Digital ticketing will be used. There will be no cash taken at the gate. Price is $8 plus processing fees for ages 5 and older. The link to purchase tickets can be found on the MSHSAA homepage (https://www.mshsaa.org/Tickets.aspx)

Bears Basketball camp for grades K-5 will be held at the Richland Elementary gym on May 20 and 21 from 3:00-4:15. Forms will be sent home with students and they will also be available in the office. Forms are due by May 15.
